Commissioned by one of our museum members, this research project explores how mid- and large-sized non-profit and cultural organizations have successfully automated their donation receipt processes. Our study examines the strategies, tools, and resources required to maintain automated acknowledgments, as well as the impact of these systems on donor satisfaction.
Key research areas include:
Donation Receipt and Acknowledgment Process: How organizations handle the end-to-end process.
Software & Tools: An overview of the technologies being used to automate donation receipts.
Strategic Use of Automation: How automation influences donor engagement and future giving.
Communication Templates: Examples of effective donor acknowledgment letters and emails.
Process Maps: Detailed analysis of how organizations structure their receipt automation workflows.
Our findings are based on interviews with nine organizations, including both large and small-to-mid-sized cultural institutions, and secondary research on industry best practices and tools.
