Craig Hauschildt
Operations Manager
Craig joined the Advisory Board for the Arts as Operations Manager in 2022 with nineteen years of experience as an arts administrator. He brings a holistic perspective on the inner workings of arts and culture organizations of various sizes.
He has dedicated his career to sharing music with audiences and drawing upon it for the betterment of the community. Dr. Hauschildt served as the Director of Education and Community Initiatives at DA CAMERA: chamber music and jazz, where he led the Young Artist Program and curated chamber music concerts in some of Houston’s most prestigious art venues, such as the Menil Collection, the Rothko Chapel, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
As a member of the Arts Connect Houston Leadership Committee and as the Arts Integration Specialist at Houston ISD, Craig has spent over a decade focused on a systems change effort to improve access to holistic, high-quality arts education in Houston public schools. This effort was informed by his work as a Fellow in the Leadership ISD Civic Voices of Harris County program, which explored the the ongoing systemic inequities facing public education in the United States.
He performs regularly as a percussionist throughout Houston with the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra, the Houston Grand Opera, the Houston Ballet, Da Camera, Ars Lyrica, Bach Society, Mercury, Musiqa, and Loop38, and joins colleagues from across the country at the Grand Teton Music Festival each summer in Wyoming.
Craig completed his DMA and MM from Rice University and his BM from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. His passion for this work is fueled by his wife, violinist Kana Kimura, their two wonderful children, and the enjoyment he receives from making and sharing music with others.
