Pilar Cárdenas is a seasoned arts management professional with a diverse background in music education, administration, and business development. As the Senior Director of Europe at the Advisory Board for the Arts since 2019, she spearheaded the establishment of ABA's presence in Europe. Since 2023 she was promoted to Managing Director and started managing client relationships across Switzerland, China, Hong Kong, Finland, Italy, Spain, and Ireland.
With extensive experiences in several institutions such as the Albeniz Foundation – Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid (Spain) and the Goimendi University Hall at the Universidad de Navarra (Spain), Pilar has demonstrated her ability to orchestrate successful cultural events and foster vibrant artistic environments for students and youth. She gained international experience at the Postclassical Ensemble in Washington DC (USA), where she delved into the dynamic world of contemporary music.
Pilar holds a Master’s in Arts Management and Administration from SDA Bocconi School of Management (Italy) and a law degree from the University of Navarre (Spain), providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the legal, administrative, and managerial aspects of the arts sector.
She collaborates as a volunteer at the Ship2b Foundation (Spain), providing mentorship to artistic organizations seeking alternative funding through impact investment.
Her dedication to client satisfaction and adeptness in navigating cultural nuances make her a valuable asset in shaping the future of arts management on a global scale.
