Kathryn Gigler
Research Consultant
Kati Gigler, PhD, has built a career in leadership across sectors, having served as executive director of multiple arts and social services organisations, consultant, advocate, academic scientist, and educator.
Gigler most recently managed Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, one of the leading dance companies in the U.S. In dual roles as acting executive director and director of education, she deepened organisational partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and led all artistic and administrative operations. Under her leadership, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre earned an Innovation Award in Education from Mental Health America of Southwestern PA, was Vibrant Pittsburgh's first-ever Vibrant Champion in the the cultural sector, and earned an Honorable Mention/Designation of Exceptional Practice in Dance Data Project’s inaugural Gender Equity Index.
As an advisor and consultant, she has worked with performing arts companies, professional service organizations, universities, and human services organizations both regionally and across North America. Her areas of focus include inclusion, diversity, equity, and access in the nonprofit space, as well as strategic planning, community engagement, and crisis response.
Gigler holds a bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University, as well as masters and doctoral doctoral degrees from Northwestern University.
