Our latest ABA Executive Benchmark asked arts and cultural leaders to share the demographic makeup of their organizations, including questions on age, gender, and racial/ethnic background.
Highlights from the survey include:
Executive and artistic leadership of participating arts and cultural organizations is majority male-identifying, whereas women make up a majority of administrative staff and senior leadership.
Administrative and artistic leadership, as well as senior leadership teams, are largely white at responding institutions; administrative and artistic staff tend to have greater racial diversity.
A majority of staff and leaders at participating arts and cultural organizations are between 31-50 years old.
