The Future of Digital

Many arts organizations have made great strides in digital content and experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.  But with the return to in-person experiences (hopefully) drawing nearer, many arts organizations are starting to think about how to evolve their digital strategies for the future.  Our recent Arts Executive poll surveyed leaders on their future plans for digital. 

Highlights from the survey include:

  • Though most arts orgs are planning to continue with the stepped-up digital content production they added during the pandemic, many are unsure if they have the right strategy for the future.

  • Plans are mixed for maintaining current levels of digital investment once arts orgs are back to in-person, but nearly all plan to devote more resources to digital than they were pre-pandemic.

  • Current members and subscribers will be the primary focus of digital arts efforts moving forward with many planning digital as an alternate or add-on experience to live.
