Our latest ABA Executive Benchmark explored HR policies, trends and practices at arts and cultural organizations.

Highlights from the survey include:

  • Hiring and onboarding and leader and management trainings are top HR priorities for 2025.

  • Development and Marketing teams have seen the greatest turnover rates compared to pre-pandemic.

  • 80% of participating organizations reported rates of 10% and higher for new staff joining since the start of 2023.

  • Better compensation elsewhere and high pressure work environments are most commonly mentioned reasons for employee departure.

  • Most respondents offer hybrid working options for their employees. 70% of respondents expect these work-from-home policies to the same in the future.
