Arts Donors and Fundraising Teams

Arts organizations have worked hard to stay in the hearts and minds of their donors during the challenges of the past year. Our recent Arts Executive poll surveyed leaders on the state of their development teams, donor reliance on benefits, and the motivations they believe drive donors to give.

Highlights from the survey include:

  • Majorities feel that effectively communicating impact and understanding donors' unique issues are most critical to driving up individual donations.

  • While 43% of arts leaders are at least somewhat concerned that their donors may be feeling giving fatigue and decrease their donations next year, just 7% of donors indicate that they will.

  • Arts leaders believe "Love of the Arts" is the biggest motivation for donations and leads to the most money raised.
