Our latest ABA Executive Benchmark explored internal communications practices at arts and cultural organizations.
Highlights from the survey include:
At most institutions, executive teams are responsible for communicating a majority of large-scale organizational updates, with HR representatives taking more ownership around internal policy updates.
The most common cadences for all-staff meetings are monthly or quarterly. Updates from these meetings are typically shared via in-person department debriefs or email summaries.
Most organizations surveyed have smaller task force groups, who communicate their updates directly with the rest of the staff.
For organizations who work with unions, over half have a designated union representative with whom they primarily communicate in both formal and informal manners.
