At the request of an ABA opera member, we explored ways in which arts organizations around the United States are building authentic relationships with specific cultural groups — in particular, the Latinx community.

Our report outlines the following:

• Thoughts from arts leaders across genres on the opportunities (and missteps) of organizations working to authentically engage with cultural groups.

• Steps to developing meaningful partnerships with community and other arts organizations with strong cultural ties, and how to identify when you are ready to enter into a new partnership.

• Models for how to staff your organization to ensure a holistic approach to cultural engagement.

• Ways to identify resources and assets you can share with other organizations and communities.
